Shift Arizona Launch!

We held a press conference for the launch of our Shift Arizona campaign on Thursday, September 23, at El Chorro Lodge to proclaim the huge economic benefits that we can gain if the community at large shifts just 10% of its spending to locally owned businesses. Numerous representatives from Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, and Glendale were in attendance, and many gave testament to the power of shifting to locals.  You can listen to the press conference here thanks to Arizona Progress.

We are excited to finally show off one thing we've been working on for the past few months: the Shift Arizona Calculator. You can enter your expenditures to get an estimate of the positive benefits that you create when you shift just 10% of your spending to locals. Then imagine the impact if your whole family shifted, then all of your friends, and finally your entire community! And since we're a competitive bunch, you can follow our leaderboard to see which Arizona city shifts the most.

Those gigantic, beautiful shopping bags were on display to represent the huge difference we can all make by shifting. As the tag line says, "A local shift, a huge lift for your economy." They were designed by E.B. Lane and printed and constructed by bluemedia.  In fact, the printing was so crisp that a barcode promoting the local stickybits application was able to be scanned by any smartphone!
