Kate grew up on goat milk and goat milking in the rural northern Arizona town of Cornville. Raising goats helped her realize her passions for ecosystems, local food, and her community. Now, Kate loves dehydrating her favorite locally grown foods and taking them backpacking!

What I love about Arizona:
I love the mountain tops, the desert floor, and everywhere in between. The climate and life here is so diverse and resilient.

Education/Training:
BA in Environmental Studies/Biology;
Minor in Geology at Whitman College.
Permaculture Design Certificate from the
Sonoran Permaculture Guild.
Maricopa County Master Gardener.
